She's Cracked

I woke up one morning with this image left over from my dreams. I don't remember a specific context, but I remember the fragility and perfectly coifed hair.

When I started work on it I thought, she's cracked. BUT, she's not broken into pieces. That's the context I was missing from the dream memory. She's been affected, vulnerable, the cracks give her shape. Her hair reflects different colors giving the illusion of one solid color. Violets grow in the shade, small and unassuming. This tiny flower comes with a heavy load of symbolism from around the world. The symbolism that most resonates with me and this painting is humility, peace, tranquility, and innocence.
